MA252 Integrated Amplifier

on-demo
in-stock

The McIntosh MA252 is a compact Hybrid Drive integrated amplifier that pairs a vacuum-tube preamplifier with a direct-coupled solid-state power stage. Its exposed tubes, polished chassis, and restrained control layout place the tube circuit at the visual and functional center of the design.

Four analog inputs include one balanced connection, two unbalanced connections, and a moving-magnet phono input. The power amplifier delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 160 watts per channel into 4 ohms, while bass and treble controls and a subwoofer output help the MA252 fit a focused analog system.

Three Important Features

  • Hybrid Drive architecture: A four-tube preamplifier feeds a solid-state power amplifier.
  • Analog source focus: Balanced, unbalanced, and moving-magnet phono inputs cover the principal analog sources.
  • Compact system flexibility: Tone controls, a subwoofer output, and remote operation extend the straightforward control layout.

Three Important Specifications

  • Tube complement: Preamplifier section: two 12AX7A and two 12AT7.
  • Power output: 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms; 160 watts per channel into 4 ohms.
  • Total harmonic distortion: 0.03%.
