MT10 Precision Turntable

on-demo
in-stock

McIntosh's flagship turntable: a heavy, magnetically suspended platter, a precision tonearm and a factory-fitted moving-coil cartridge.

The MT10 is a belt-drive turntable built as a complete, matched package. A brushless DC motor with electronic speed control (including a braking feature) drives a silicon acrylic platter that floats on a magnetically suspended ceramic bearing, keeping friction and mechanical noise to a minimum. The platter is illuminated from below in McIntosh's style. The custom tonearm uses a rigid dural-aluminum tube gimbaled in two sapphire bearings horizontally and two ceramic bearings vertically. It is adjustable for VTA, anti-skate and azimuth. McIntosh sets tracking force, anti-skate and cartridge position at the factory, so it is close to plug-and-play.

The MT10 ships with a low-output moving-coil cartridge (0.5 mV) with an ebony body and elliptical diamond stylus. It needs an MC phono input with enough gain for a 0.5 mV cartridge and a load of about 400–500 Ω. It plays 33⅓, 45 and 78 rpm. At 42 lb and 21 inches deep it needs a solid, generous shelf, and there is no dust cover. It suits the top of a McIntosh system, where it was designed to sit.
