C22 Preamplifier Mk V

on-demo
in-stock

The McIntosh C22 Preamplifier Mk V combines a six-tube analog signal path with the familiar glass-and-aluminum presentation associated with earlier C22 generations. Front-panel knobs and rocker switches provide direct access to source, level, balance, tone, and phono adjustments.

Seven analog inputs include two balanced, three unbalanced, one moving-coil phono, and one moving-magnet phono connection. Two pairs each of balanced and unbalanced variable outputs support flexible amplifier arrangements, while the adjustable phono loading and bypassable tone controls help adapt the C22 to a particular record-playing system.

Three Important Features

  • Six-tube analog architecture: Five 12AX7A tubes and one 12AT7 tube form the preamplifier circuit.
  • Dual phono capability: Separate moving-coil and moving-magnet inputs include adjustable loading.
  • Direct tactile control: Front-panel knobs and rocker switches provide immediate access to the principal functions.

Three Important Specifications

  • Tube complement: Five 12AX7A and one 12AT7.
  • Total harmonic distortion: 0.08%.
  • Frequency response: +0/-0.5dB from 20Hz to 20kHz; +0/-3dB from 15Hz to 100kHz.
