The d108 is the entry point to JL Audio's home subwoofers. A purpose-built 8-inch long-excursion driver, built on JL's DMA motor optimization, sits in a sealed cabinet just over 11 inches tall, powered by a 500-watt Class D amplifier with a tightly regulated switching power supply. Line and speaker-level inputs and a 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley low-pass filter make it simple to add to almost any system.
It's built for small rooms, desktop systems and compact bookshelf speakers that need help below 50 or 60 Hz, and it reaches 29 Hz at −3 dB. The sealed box keeps bass quick and tidy rather than boomy, which matters with music. It has no built-in room correction, so placement and the phase and crossover controls do the work. For a bigger room or more output, step up to the d110 or an E-Sub.
