Solidsteel has built hi-fi racks, amplifier stands and speaker stands in its own factory in Italy since 1990, and the idea has stayed the same: threaded aluminium pillars filled with damping material, carrying dense laminated MDF shelves, bolted together with stainless hardware so a rack neither rings nor stores energy. The S2 is the entry point and the company's best seller, the S3 adds damped pillars and thicker shelves in black or walnut, the S4 and VL go wide for side-by-side components and record storage, the S5 puts an isolation platform on every level, and the Hyperspike series moves to solid polished-steel pillars with spiked, stacking modules.
