The story
Lumina III uses a 1.1-inch DAD soft-dome tweeter, a dedicated 5.9-inch paper-cone midrange and two 5.9-inch woofers, crossed over at 350 Hz and 3,500 Hz with Sonus faber's Paracross topology. The cabinet is 38.9 inches tall and 9 inches wide, with a multilayer wood front, wood veneer, hand-applied leather and iron spikes.
Stereophile's John Atkinson found that it images precisely, though its top octaves are slightly forward. He got the best bass balance by moving it closer to the rear wall. Sound & Vision heard crisp detail and an open midrange, with clean, tight bass that benefits from a subwoofer on bass-heavy music. At 89 dB, it is easy to drive with 50 to 250 W. It suits small-to-medium rooms.
