Gravis I uses an 8.3-inch long-throw paper-cone woofer, firing downward from a closed box, driven by a 150 W RMS (250 W peak) Class AB amplifier. A leather top embossed with the Sonus faber logo finishes the small, square cabinet. Controls include separate master and LFE levels, a 30 to 120 Hz crossover (24 dB/octave), a phase switch and auto on/off.

Sonus faber recommends Gravis I with the Lumina collection and the Sonetto I and II. It is the one to choose when floor space is tight and you want fuller bass from bookshelf speakers, not maximum home-theater output. You can connect it at line level, through an LFE input, or at speaker level through the Speakon input.
