The story
Where the DB1D, DB2D and DB3D use pairs of opposed drivers, the DB4S uses a single 250 mm Aerofoil cone in a heavily braced closed box. It keeps the digital preamplifier with Dynamic EQ and the 1,000-watt Class D amplifier of the rest of the series, so the response still reaches 10 Hz at –3 dB, and it keeps the app-based setup with Room EQ over Bluetooth LE that makes the DB Series so easy to place.
The DB4S is the one DB Series model offered in a real-wood Rosenut veneer alongside Gloss Black and Satin White, which makes it the obvious partner for 700 Series and 600 Series speakers in matching finishes. Balanced XLR and RCA inputs, 12 V triggers and RS-232 are all there. What Hi-Fi? gave it a five-star review; we think it is the sweet spot of the range for a two-channel music system.
