The story
The DB2D is the DB Series model most of our customers end up with. Two 250 mm Aerofoil cone drivers are mounted back to back so their reaction forces cancel, which keeps the cabinet quiet and the bass clean. A 1,000-watt Class D amplifier and a digital preamplifier with Dynamic EQ give it the same 10 Hz extension as the DB1D, with slightly less output in the largest rooms.
Everything is set up from the Bowers & Wilkins DB Subwoofers app over Bluetooth LE: placement guidance, a room measurement using your phone's microphone, Room EQ, and crossover, phase and level adjustment from the listening chair. Balanced and RCA inputs, 12 V triggers and RS-232 cover both two-channel and custom-install use. It is a natural match for 700 Series and 800 Series speakers in medium to large rooms.
