The XRT1.1K is a ported four-way floorstanding speaker. Four 6.5-inch nanocarbon fiber/Nomex honeycomb woofers and two 6.5-inch low-frequency midranges carry the bass, while a line array of 24 two-inch and 40 three-quarter-inch aluminum-magnesium domes covers the midrange and treble. The crossover uses low-loss capacitors and inductors chosen for linearity at high power, with self-resetting protection for the drivers, and the cabinet has a seven-layer high-gloss piano black finish on a machined aluminum and glass base with adjustable feet.

Like the larger XRT2.1K, it uses line-array principles to keep level and tonal balance consistent from the front row to the back, so more than one listener gets a stable stereo image. It is the more practical choice for a medium-to-large room that can't take a seven-foot speaker. Gold-plated Solid Cinch binding posts allow tri-amping or tri-wiring, and a 1,200 W rating gives plenty of headroom for powerful McIntosh amplifiers.
