Linn · LP12 upgrades
Linn's suspended aluminum base board: damped feet that isolate any Sondek LP12 from the vibration coming up through its stand, and the base fitted to the Selekt and Klimax LP12.
Fitted as standard to the Selekt and Klimax LP12; retrofits to any LP12.

The story
Trampolin replaces the LP12's base board with a rigid aluminum plate whose feet are suspended on acoustic damping material, so the deck is decoupled from whatever it stands on. Linn fits it to the Selekt and Klimax LP12 and builds the Urika phono stages onto their own Trampolin boards. Art Dudley, reviewing it for Stereophile, described "four diaphragm-style feet to isolate the player from disturbances in the sub-40Hz range" and called the design "simple, and seemingly effective."
Choose Trampolin when the LP12 sits on ordinary furniture or a rack that passes footfall and speaker energy up into the deck; choose the Solid Base when the shelf already isolates it. It fits any LP12, including a 1973 original, and is one of the least expensive changes on Linn's upgrade path.

Every Sondek LP12 shares the same plinth, top plate, suspension and platter, so any deck can be upgraded in steps. Linn sells the parts individually; this is the current upgrade path in order of price.
The Solid Base is the fixed alternative; Trampolin is included with the Urika and Urika II.
Reviewed with the first Trampolin; the current board is aluminum.
