The story
Kore takes the thinking behind Linn's flagship Keel, rigidity and the removal of unwanted damping, and applies it at a fraction of the cost. The sub-chassis is a multi-layer box of three 1.5 mm aluminum layers bonded with a Linn-specified adhesive into a structure that is very stiff for its weight. The armboard is machined from solid aluminum and ribbed underneath, then bonded to the sub-chassis so the two act as a single piece, and the arm collar bolts straight to the sub-chassis rather than to a separate laminated board. The tonearm therefore has a direct, rigid connection to the bearing.
Linn fits Kore to the Selekt LP12 and describes it as bringing an LP12 to Akurate-level performance. Reviewers of the Selekt have heard the result as a whole: Alan Sircom in Hi-Fi+ found "a very crisp, fast and precise sound." As an upgrade to a Majik it is a clear step, and it is available in versions for Linn arms (Ekos SE, Ekos, Akito, Ittok and Arko) and for Rega, SME and Naim arms. Fitting involves a full suspension setup, which we do in-house.
Kore sits between the Majik sub-chassis and the Keel SE, which machines sub-chassis and armboard from a single billet.

Every Sondek LP12 shares the same plinth, top plate, suspension and platter, so any deck can be upgraded in steps. Linn sells the parts individually; this is the current upgrade path in order of price.
Kore is included in the Selekt LP12; the Keel SE is the step above.
