The middle of Linn's LP12 range: a big step beyond Majik, with the Lingo supply, Kore sub-chassis, Arko arm and Kendo moving coil.
The Selekt LP12 sits between the Majik and Klimax and brings in several of the upgrades that make the biggest difference on a Sondek. The platter runs on the Karousel single-point bearing. The Kore aluminum sub-chassis is bonded to an armboard machined from solid, for a stiffer link between arm and bearing. A Lingo power supply drives a 12 V synchronous AC motor with precise, switchable 33⅓ and 45 rpm. The gimballed Arko tonearm, made entirely of 7075 aluminum, comes fitted with Linn's Kendo moving coil. A suspended Trampolin base board isolates the deck from what it sits on.
For a Majik owner, the Selekt is the next level of performance in Linn's range. Linn recommends the Arko and Kendo as a pair, because their shared aluminum construction helps drain energy out of the cartridge. You will need a moving coil phono stage. Linn suggests its Uphorik, or the built-in phono stage in a Selekt DSM. Like every LP12, it can be upgraded further over time.
