The story
The S2 is the entry to the Solidsteel range and the model the company has sold more of than any other. Four threaded aluminium pillars carry 0.86-inch MDF shelves with a polymer laminate; the pillars are anodized aluminium rather than welded steel, which keeps the rack light to assemble and far less resonant than a hollow steel frame. Everything is bolted with stainless hardware and the iron pillar terminals are zinc treated.
At 31.6 inches the S2-4 takes an integrated or streamer, a phono stage and a turntable up top at a comfortable working height. Inner shelves measure 19.7 by 16.9 inches, enough for full-width components, and each is tested to 110 pounds. Extra shelf kits with 8.6-inch poles let you add a level later.
