The SS-6 is the stand Solidsteel has built since 1992: a hand-welded three-leg steel frame, 24 inches tall, with fillable uprights, an MDF top plate and adjustable spikes, sold as a pair.

The story
Three welded steel legs meet at a 6.3-inch MDF top plate and spread to a broad triangular base, the geometry that made the SS series the stand of choice for small monitors through the 1990s and still does. The uprights are hollow so you can fill them with sand or shot to tune mass and kill ring, and the frame is finished in an anti-resonant coating. Adjustable spikes and stainless floor discs are included.
At 24 inches the SS-6 puts the tweeter of most stand-mount speakers at seated ear height; the 21-inch SS-5 and 28-inch SS-7 cover shorter and taller cabinets. Larger 7.5-inch top plates are available for wider speakers. Choose black to disappear, white for a bright room, or raw metal clear-coat to show the welds.
