The story
Each of the ten 24 AWG conductors in the Valhalla 2 Interconnect is silver-plated 99.999999% oxygen-free copper, solid core, wrapped in a precision Dual Mono-Filament layer and sealed in its own tube of class 1.1 extruded FEP before the tubes are bonded together. Two layers of silver-plated shielding give 97% coverage. Lay and length are mechanically tuned. Nordost quotes 17.0 pF/ft, 0.076 µH/ft and a velocity of propagation of 87%.
Nordost describes the cable as state of the art, bettered only by Odin, and the reviews of 2014 to 2016 agreed: Stereophile's Brian Damkroger found Valhalla 2 dramatically better than the original Valhalla, and The Audio Beat and The Absolute Sound both placed it at the top of what the Reference tier can do. It is quick and resolving, with the scale and ease that come from very low noise.
Interconnects are sold as a pair with gold-plated HOLO:PLUG RCA or XLR connectors, in lengths from 0.6 m to 7 m in half-metre steps; 4-pin and 5-pin DIN terminations and a single cable for mono use can be ordered. It is the interconnect we specify between dCS, MOON and Burmester separates.
