The story
A few manufacturers use 50 Ω BNC connections for analog or clock signals between their components, and Nordost builds a Valhalla 2 for them. It is a coaxial cable with a single 18 AWG conductor of silver-plated 99.999999% oxygen-free copper, solid core, held in Dual Mono-Filament inside class 1.1 extruded FEP, with mechanically tuned length. Nordost's USA price list gives 10.5 pF/ft and a velocity of propagation of 89%.
The construction is shared with the 50 Ω version of the Valhalla 2 Digital Cable; this listing is the matched pair for a stereo connection, terminated at both ends with gold-plated 50 Ω BNC connectors. Nordost does not publish shield coverage for this build; the 75 Ω and 110 Ω digital cables of the same construction carry two layers of silver-plated shielding at 98% coverage.
Pairs are built to order in lengths from 0.6 m to 3.5 m in half-metre steps, with longer runs on request. If you are unsure whether your components call for a 50 Ω or a standard RCA or XLR connection, call us before ordering.
