The story
Norse 3 is Nordost's third-generation middle range, introduced in autumn 2026, and the Heimdall 3 Speaker Cable is where it begins. Each cable carries eighteen solid-core 22 AWG conductors of 99.99999% oxygen-free copper, each plated with silver and suspended in Nordost's Micro Mono-Filament construction: a thread of FEP spirals around every conductor so the wire rests mostly on air inside its extruded FEP jacket. The heavier gauge and air dielectric push the velocity of propagation to 95%.
The other change from Norse 2 is at the ends. Terminations are ultrasonically welded rather than crimped or soldered, which Nordost says gives a consistent, high-integrity bond, and the gold-plated spade and Z-plug banana connectors sit in a purpose-built housing. Conductor lengths are mechanically tuned to a formula for the cable's geometry.
Heimdall 3 keeps the sound Nordost's flat cables are known for, fast, open and even-handed, with low loss over long runs, and it suits revealing systems from the brands we carry. Pairs are built to order with bananas or 6.5 mm spades chosen separately for the amplifier and speaker ends; 8.5 mm and 5 mm spades and lengths beyond 7 m are available on request.
