The story
If you run Valhalla 2 speaker cable into bi-wire loudspeakers single-wired, the link between the two sets of binding posts is the weakest part of the circuit. Nordost's Valhalla 2 Bi-Wire Jumpers replace the supplied plates with fourteen 22 AWG conductors of silver-plated 99.999999% oxygen-free copper, solid core, in Dual Mono-Filament inside class 1.1 extruded FEP, with mechanically tuned spacing and length. Capacitance is 10.9 pF/ft, inductance 0.125 µH/ft and the velocity of propagation 97%, the same figures as the speaker cable.
Nordost's view is that buyers are essentially getting an extension of their speaker cables, which keeps the sonic signature consistent through the system. We agree, and we fit them as a matter of course with Valhalla 2 on Sonus faber, Bowers & Wilkins and Magico speakers that have dual terminals.
A set of four covers one pair of speakers; a pair of jumpers is available at half price. Terminations are HOLO:PLUG gold-plated 8.5 mm spades or low-mass Z-plug bananas in any combination, and the standard lengths are 13.5 in and 27 in.
