The story
Most bi-wirable loudspeakers ship with stamped metal plates or generic wire between the two sets of binding posts, and those links sit in the signal path of every single-wired system. Nordost's Norse Bi-Wire Jumpers replace them with a 16 AWG solid-core conductor of silver-plated 99.99999% oxygen-free copper, wound in a precise spiral of Micro Mono-Filament and covered in extruded FEP, with mechanically tuned spacing and length.
Nordost quotes 2.75 pF/ft capacitance, 0.5 µH/ft inductance and a velocity of propagation of 96%. The company says the jumpers dramatically improve speaker performance over the supplied strips, and in our experience they are one of the least expensive changes that makes a clear difference on a Sonus faber, Bowers & Wilkins or Harbeth with dual terminals.
A set of four covers one pair of speakers. The standard configuration is a 6.5 mm spade at one end and a Z-plug banana at the other, so the speaker cable and jumper can share a post; banana-to-banana and spade-to-spade are the same price, and 8.5 mm spades can be ordered. Choose 7, 14 or 21 in to suit the spacing of your terminals.
