The story
The 610LP is what MOON calls a purist design: the 810LP's balanced differential topology, 24-stage i2DCf inductive filtering and 1%-tolerance polypropylene capacitors, in a single-suspension chassis at a lower price. Both balanced and single-ended inputs and outputs are provided. Sixteen gain settings from 40 to 70 dB, 64 resistive loads from 12.1 Ω to 47 kΩ and 16 capacitive loads to 1,120 pF let it be set precisely for any cartridge, and the RIAA or IEC curve is selectable. The 820S external supply is an available upgrade.
TONEAudio's Jeff Dorgay noted that with the 610LP "the noise floor is always in the recording, with tape hiss from the master coming through, not the electronics." It is the phono stage for a serious moving-coil setup with a 641 or 791 system; the 310LP covers simpler systems and the 810LP adds the floating suspension and lower noise of the reference.
