The story
The 310LP is MOON's long-running mid-priced phono stage, and SoundStage! keeps it on its list of Recommended Reference Components. The circuit is symmetrical, with the power supply on its own board around a toroidal transformer and two regulation stages, MOON's i2DCf inductive filtering, custom electrolytic capacitors and four-layer boards with pure copper traces. Resistive loading, capacitance, gain and the RIAA or IEC curve are set by the user, and outputs are offered on both RCA and balanced XLR.
The 310LP is the right phono stage for most turntables and cartridges feeding a 641, 341 or a preamplifier without phono built in. Owners of low-output moving coils and reference tables should look at the 610LP.
