The story
The Edition Hub is the premium enclosure for Linn's modular Selekt platform. The whole chassis is machined from aluminum with concealed joins, a lid vented in a wave pattern of angled apertures, a control dial that turns on a stainless-steel bearing inside a photo-etched steel ring lit by 100 LEDs, six extruded-aluminum smart buttons and an all-glass fascia whose mirrored front hides the display until it is needed. Linn's purpose is rigidity and isolation as much as appearance. Inside are the same three cartridge slots as the Classic Hub: a Line Out, Power Out, Hybrid or Mono Line Out cartridge sets the output, a Standard, Katalyst or Organik DAC module sets the conversion, and HDMI switching and surround modules are optional. A Utopik power supply is standard.
This configuration fills two of the Edition Hub's three slots with a Mono Line Out cartridge and a Mono Organik DAC module for each channel. Left and right are converted and buffered on physically separate boards with their own supplies, which removes the crosstalk and shared-supply interaction of a stereo module and is the arrangement Linn uses for the highest performance the Selekt platform offers. Each channel has an RCA output at 2 V and a balanced XLR at 4 V, switchable between variable and fixed level. The third slot remains free for the HDMI module.
Whatever the configuration, every Selekt DSM streams from TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer and Spotify Connect, supports AirPlay 2 and Roon, plays files to 24-bit/384 kHz and DSD256, and has a built-in MM/MC phono stage, a line input, two Toslink, two S/PDIF, USB and HDMI ARC, a 1/4-inch headphone output, and RCA subwoofer outputs for bass reinforcement. Two Exakt Link sockets connect Linn Exakt speakers, an Exaktbox or an LP12 with Urika II, and Space Optimisation corrects the system for your room. Craig Joyce at StereoNET, reviewing exactly this configuration, found that it "sounds and performs like a far more expensive collection of discrete components," with an "extremely solid" soundstage, and gave it 8.5 out of 10. What Hi-Fi? tested the same dual-mono Organik form, rated sound, build and features 5 out of 5, and wrote that "in dual-mono form, as it is in our sample, the Organik DAC really is excellent."
This is the highest Selekt configuration and the step before the Klimax DSM, which carries Organik as standard in a chassis machined from solid. Because the mono cartridges are line outputs, this version is for systems with separate power amplifiers, such as a pair of Klimax Solo 500s.
Both finishes are the same price.

Linn Selekt DSM: Edition Hub product page and specifications
Pearl Audio's Selekt DSM configurations in order of price; every one can be re-configured later, and the Klimax DSM sits above them all.
Speakers: the 119 and 150 can be driven directly and run in Exakt. Turntable: a Majik or Selekt LP12 into the built-in phono stage, or a Urika II over Exakt Link.
Both reviews tested this dual-mono Organik configuration.
