The story
The Edition Hub is the premium enclosure for Linn's modular Selekt platform. The whole chassis is machined from aluminum with concealed joins, a lid vented in a wave pattern of angled apertures, a control dial that turns on a stainless-steel bearing inside a photo-etched steel ring lit by 100 LEDs, six extruded-aluminum smart buttons and an all-glass fascia whose mirrored front hides the display until it is needed. Linn's purpose is rigidity and isolation as much as appearance. Inside are the same three cartridge slots as the Classic Hub: a Line Out, Power Out, Hybrid or Mono Line Out cartridge sets the output, a Standard, Katalyst or Organik DAC module sets the conversion, and HDMI switching and surround modules are optional. A Utopik power supply is standard.
This configuration fits the Stereo Power Out cartridge and the Katalyst DAC module in the Edition Hub. The Power Out cartridge is a two-channel Class D amplifier rated at 50 W into 8 Ω and 100 W into 4 Ω per channel; Katalyst is the DAC architecture Linn developed for the Klimax DS. With an Exakt configuration the amplifiers run Linn's 119 or 150 fully active.
Whatever the configuration, every Selekt DSM streams from TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer and Spotify Connect, supports AirPlay 2 and Roon, plays files to 24-bit/384 kHz and DSD256, and has a built-in MM/MC phono stage, a line input, two Toslink, two S/PDIF, USB and HDMI ARC, a 1/4-inch headphone output, and RCA subwoofer outputs for bass reinforcement. Two Exakt Link sockets connect Linn Exakt speakers, an Exaktbox or an LP12 with Urika II, and Space Optimisation corrects the system for your room. StereoNET's Mark Gusew, testing the Katalyst-and-amplifier combination in the Classic chassis, found it "punches way above its weight." The Edition Hub adds the machined enclosure and keeps every option open, including the Organik module.
This sits below the Edition Hub integrated with Stereo Organik DAC and above the Classic Hub integrated versions. For a complete Linn system add the 119 or 150 speakers.

Pearl Audio's Selekt DSM configurations in order of price; every one can be re-configured later, and the Klimax DSM sits above them all.
Speakers: the 119 and 150 can be driven directly and run in Exakt. Turntable: a Majik or Selekt LP12 into the built-in phono stage, or a Urika II over Exakt Link.
The Edition Hub reviews tested dual-mono Organik streamers; StereoNET (2019) tested Katalyst with the amplifier cartridge in the Classic chassis.
