The story
The Edition Hub is the premium enclosure for Linn's modular Selekt platform. The whole chassis is machined from aluminum with concealed joins, a lid vented in a wave pattern of angled apertures, a control dial that turns on a stainless-steel bearing inside a photo-etched steel ring lit by 100 LEDs, six extruded-aluminum smart buttons and an all-glass fascia whose mirrored front hides the display until it is needed. Linn's purpose is rigidity and isolation as much as appearance. Inside are the same three cartridge slots as the Classic Hub: a Line Out, Power Out, Hybrid or Mono Line Out cartridge sets the output, a Standard, Katalyst or Organik DAC module sets the conversion, and HDMI switching and surround modules are optional. A Utopik power supply is standard.
As supplied, the Edition Hub has no DAC module and no line or speaker outputs. It streams, switches sources and controls volume, and feeds Linn Exakt speakers or an Exaktbox over Exakt Link, which is a complete system in itself. For analog outputs or built-in amplification you add a Line Out, Power Out or Mono Line Out cartridge and a Standard, Katalyst or Organik DAC module, and the dual-mono Organik configuration is available only in a hub with two free slots. Pearl Audio lists the common combinations separately and fits cartridges in-store.
Whatever the configuration, every Selekt DSM streams from TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer and Spotify Connect, supports AirPlay 2 and Roon, plays files to 24-bit/384 kHz and DSD256, and has a built-in MM/MC phono stage, a line input, two Toslink, two S/PDIF, USB and HDMI ARC, a 1/4-inch headphone output, and RCA subwoofer outputs for bass reinforcement. Two Exakt Link sockets connect Linn Exakt speakers, an Exaktbox or an LP12 with Urika II, and Space Optimisation corrects the system for your room. Reviewers who have heard the Edition Hub in its dual-mono Organik form have been emphatic: StereoNET found it "sounds and performs like a far more expensive collection of discrete components," and What Hi-Fi? called the Organik DAC in dual-mono form "really excellent."
The Edition Hub is the upper of two Selekt hubs. It shares its electronics and modules with the Classic Hub and adds the machined enclosure; the Klimax DSM, machined from solid with Organik as standard, is the step above. Finishes are silver or black anodized aluminum.

Pearl Audio's Selekt DSM configurations in order of price; every one can be re-configured later, and the Klimax DSM sits above them all.
Speakers: the 119 and 150 can be driven directly and run in Exakt. Turntable: a Majik or Selekt LP12 into the built-in phono stage, or a Urika II over Exakt Link.
