The story
The Tyr 3 Power Cord uses seven solid-core 16 AWG conductors of silver-plated 99.99999% oxygen-free copper, each held in Dual Mono-Filament construction inside extruded FEP. Around them is an AC-optimized shield with 90% coverage, which Nordost describes as an important layer of isolation between the conductors and their electromagnetic environment. Solid cores avoid the strand interaction and hot spots of ordinary stranded cord.
Tyr 3 is the only Norse 3 power cord built with Dual Mono-Filament, the construction Nordost uses in Valhalla 2 and Odin 2, and its seven conductors match the Valhalla 2 count. It belongs on power amplifiers and the components that feed them. A 15 A IEC C15 or 20 A IEC C19 equipment end is available, and a 30 A locking connector for certain Dan D'Agostino amplifiers can be ordered.
Choose a straight or 90° US wall plug and the equipment end in the selector; EU, UK and AUS plugs are available at the same price to order, and the 90°, low-profile and 20 A options carry a small surcharge. Standard lengths run from 1 m to 7 m, with longer cords to order.
