The story
The Odin 2 Power Cord is constructed with seven silver-plated, close-tolerance 14 AWG conductors of 99.999999% oxygen-free copper, solid core, each in Dual Mono-Filament inside class 1.003 extruded FEP and each individually shielded under Nordost's TSC design. Nordost says the shielding allows a faster rise time in the 50/60 Hz cycle and negates EMI and RFI; the result it describes is a seemingly non-existent noise floor. DC resistance is 1.33 Ω per 1000 ft and the velocity of propagation 88%.
Both ends are Odin 2 HOLO:PLUG connectors, gold-plated and machined to Nordost's design. Nordost rates the cord for 32 A. Marc Mickelson of The Audio Beat included the power cords in his 2016 review of the Odin 2 range and found the line's benefit greatest when used throughout the system.
Choose a 15 A IEC C15, low-profile C15 or 20 A IEC C19 equipment end in the selector; the 20 A and low-profile options carry a surcharge. Standard lengths are 1.25 m, 2.5 m and 5 m, and 32 A powerCON, Walther and 30 A locking connectors and international wall plugs can be ordered. We use it on the dCS Varèse and on reference power amplifiers.
