Magico · S Series
The S3 is the heart of Magico's S Series: a 44-inch aluminum floorstander with real full-range bass, built with technology taken from the M Series flagships.
Price is for a pair. This is the current (2023) generation of the S3.

The story
The S3's enclosure is built from four separate extruded aluminum panels, from 1/2 in to 2 in thick, machined into a shape with no sharp edges. A curved, upward-pitched top plate reduces diffraction and breaks up standing waves inside the cabinet. The 28 mm diamond-coated beryllium tweeter runs on a neodymium motor with a new back chamber. Below it are a 5-inch midrange with an aluminum-honeycomb-core cone and two 9-inch bass drivers with 5-inch titanium voice coils. The cabinet stands on an outrigger base.
The Absolute Sound's Jonathan Valin named the S3 a 2024 Golden Ear pick. He wrote that he had never heard a small floorstanding cone speaker do as much for the money, and that it holds its own against designs costing twice as much. At 88 dB and 4 Ω, with a recommended minimum of 50 W, the S3 works with a wide range of capable amplifiers. It works well in medium-sized rooms where the S5 would be too big.

Best in medium-sized rooms. Pair with a capable amplifier of 50 W or more.
For home theater, the matching center channel is the Magico SCC, and the matching subwoofer is the Magico S-Sub.
For the deepest bass, Magico's reference subwoofer is the Magico Titan 15.
