The story
This package pairs the two components an LP12 needs for Linn's internal phono stage. The Radikal in the machined Klimax enclosure (2021 generation) replaces the deck's AC motor and supply with a brushed DC motor in an acoustic housing and an FPGA-managed controller that checks speed on every rotation, and it provides the power for a Urika inside the plinth, which cannot be fitted without a Radikal. This is the 2021 Radikal in the 60 mm chassis machined from solid aluminum, the version fitted to Klimax LP12s until the 2025 Klimax Radikal replaced it; Linn's current list carries the Klimax Radikal and the Radikal (Standard), so ask us to confirm availability.
The Urika is Linn's analog internal MC phono stage: dual mono, 62.5 dB of gain into a fixed 75 Ω / 10 nF load, RIAA accurate to ±0.15 dB, with direct-coupled RCA and transformer-coupled XLR outputs into any preamplifier. Herb Reichert reviewed a Klimax LP12 with Radikal and Urika for Stereophile and found its tempo, focus and immediacy "near-laboratory quality."
Each component is described in full on its own page. Fitting the pair is a single workshop visit: the motor is changed, the Urika mounted on its Trampolin board, the suspension set and the deck calibrated. The alternative packages pair the machined Radikal with the Urika II, or either Urika with the Radikal (Standard).
