Bowers & Wilkins · 800 Series Diamond D5
The center channel for an 801 D5 or 802 D5 system, built around the same 6-inch midrange so dialogue matches the main speakers exactly.
Price is for one speaker. New for 2026; replaces the HTM81 D4.
The HTM81 D5 uses the same 6-inch Continuum Cone FST midrange and Diamond Dome tweeter as the 801 and 802, with a pair of 8-inch Aerofoil bass drivers in a wide, heavily braced cabinet. The tweeter sits on top in its own solid aluminum housing, as on the stereo models, and D5's Signature-derived drive-unit and crossover parts carry through.
In a home theater the center channel carries most of the dialogue, so tonal match with the front left and right speakers matters more than anything. Because the HTM81 shares its midrange with the 801 and 802, voices pan across the front stage without changing character. It's sensitive (90 dB) and wide-bandwidth, but it is a large, heavy speaker: plan the cabinet or the optional FS-HTM stand (black or titanium) before ordering.
Light Walnut is not offered for the center channels.
