The 805 D5 is the only two-way speaker in the range. A 6.5-inch Continuum Cone bass/midrange covers everything below the Diamond Dome tweeter, which sits on top in its own solid aluminum housing. D5 brings Signature-derived drive-unit and crossover parts, a stiffer internal Matrix and the new, more open tweeter grille. The curved Reverse Wrap cabinet is finished to the same standard as the floorstanders.
With a single driver handling the whole midrange, the 805 has a seamless, coherent sound, and it disappears into the soundstage in a way few speakers this size can. It reaches 34 Hz at −6 dB; in larger rooms, or for films, pair it with a B&W DB Series subwoofer. Its 4.6 Ω minimum is the easiest load in the range, and B&W recommends 50 to 120 W, so it suits a wide range of high-quality amplifiers. Mount it on the matching FS-805 stand (black or titanium, sold separately).
The top plate is trimmed in Leather by Connolly: black on Stealth Black and Dark Walnut, light grey on Warm White and Light Walnut.
