The story
The 250i v2 is the gateway to MOON. It is a straightforward analog integrated amplifier with precision-matched MOON bipolar output transistors, a rigid chassis and a low operating temperature for long life. Six inputs include a moving-magnet phono stage for a turntable and a front-panel mini-jack; a quarter-inch headphone jack is on the front. The CRM-3 remote and a SimLink cable for MOON's 260D CD transport are included. The v2 revision upgraded the circuit for better sound than the original 250i.
Reviews from The Ear, StereoNET, Enjoy the Music and CE Pro agree it delivers MOON's character at its lowest price. The 250i v2 suits a first serious system or a second room with efficient speakers; the Compass Collection 341 adds twice the power, a balanced input and an MC-capable phono stage.
