The story
The Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable + carries four 24 AWG conductors of silver-plated 99.999999% oxygen-free copper, solid core, arranged as two twisted pairs for left and right. Each channel is individually wrapped in a silver braided shield, and each conductor sits in Dual Mono-Filament inside class 1.1 extruded FEP, with mechanically tuned lay and lengths. Capacitance is 14.06 pF/ft (46.0 pF/m), shield coverage 99% and the velocity of propagation 87%.
Alongside the channels runs a separately shielded, silver-plated 24 AWG bond wire in Micro Mono-Filament, and two detachable silver-plated ground whips, ending in gold-plated 5 mm spades, let you ground the cable at whichever point in the system is quietest. Marc Mickelson evaluated the tonearm cable as part of his 2014 Audio Beat review of the Valhalla 2 range.
Choose a straight or 90° HOLO:PLUG low-mass 5-pin DIN or an RCA pair at the tonearm end and HOLO:PLUG RCA or XLR at the phono stage; the 90° DIN carries a surcharge and needs a pin orientation. Lengths run from 1.25 m to 3.75 m in the selector. It is the phono cable for a Clearaudio or Linn turntable into a reference phono stage.
