The story
Nordost says the Odin Gold Tonearm Cable + takes every element under consideration, from design to material to construction. Its four 23 AWG conductors of 99.999999% oxygen-free copper, solid core and gold-plated, sit in Dual Mono-Filament inside class 1.003 extruded FEP, each individually shielded under TSC with gold-plated shields for 100% coverage, with mechanically tuned lay and length. The RCA build measures 9.75 pF/ft and 0.11 µH/ft; the XLR build 23.5 pF/ft and 0.0611 µH/ft.
Grounding follows Nordost's two-pronged approach: a fully isolated bond wire runs through the cable, and two detachable 23 AWG gold-plated solid-core whips in Dual Mono-Filament let you ground to whichever point in the system is quietest. Nordost describes the result as a noiseless, hyper-realistic experience; we would say that at this level the cable's contribution is to get out of the way of a reference cartridge and phono stage.
Choose a straight or 90° gold-plated HOLO:PLUG low-mass 5-pin DIN or an RCA pair at the tonearm end and HOLO:PLUG RCA or XLR at the phono stage; the 90° DIN needs a pin orientation. Standard lengths are 1.25 m, 2 m and 3 m, built to order.
