Parsec Speaker arranges four 15.5 AWG braided Kevlar-core Litz conductors as a star quad around a nylon air-tube core and anti-static fibres, with PTFE air tubes bound in FEP tape under a flexible TPR jacket. It is hand soldered to Cardas CGMS spades or CABE bananas.

Cardas describes a superb balance: classic Cardas midrange, quick bass, rich harmonics and a naturally extended top octave, working with virtually any speaker, including bi-wire. Internal bi-wire is available for a small fee.

Key technologies

  • Ultra Pure Cardas Copper. Grade 1, 99.9999% pure oxygen-free copper, drawn and annealed slowly through silver dies, then given a single poly-nylon coat to prevent oxidation and crosstalk between strands.
  • Golden Ratio scaled Litz conductors. Multi-stranded conductors in which each layer of strands steps up in size by 1:1.618 from the centre outward, a Cardas patent that controls strand resonance.
  • Quad Eutectic solder. Hand soldered with Cardas Quad Eutectic solder and Cardas rosin flux at 800 °F irons, by the Cardas terminators in Bandon.
  • Made in Bandon, Oregon. Every Cardas cable is built and hand terminated at the Cardas factory on the southern Oregon coast, and carries a transferable lifetime warranty.

Choosing length and terminations

  • Measure along the path the cable will actually take — down the rack, along the floor, up to the speaker terminals — and round up. Cardas charges by the half metre.
  • Both cables in the pair are the same length. Keeping left and right equal is the normal practice, even if one speaker is closer.
  • Spades suit binding posts you can torque down; bananas are quicker and fit most posts. You can mix: for example, spades at the amplifier and bananas at the speakers.
  • Internal bi-wire puts two spades or bananas per polarity at the speaker end for speakers with separate bass and treble terminals; choose it under Speaker End for the fee shown. If you would rather keep a single run, Cardas jumpers are the alternative.
