The story
Clear Beyond Interconnect uses four 26.5 AWG Matched Propagation conductors whose Litz strands run from an ultra-fine 47 AWG up to 39 AWG in Golden Ratio steps, each insulated in ultra-thin extruded PTFE. The four are arranged as a star quad around anti-static air tubes, and a second layer of larger air tubes holds the composite shield of tinned copper and magnet wire away from the signal conductors.
At 13 mm it is a substantial cable, which is why single-ended pairs use the SRCA with Cardas's 13 mm adaptor and balanced pairs use a redesigned CG XLR. Cardas describes it as completely neutral with unsurpassed speed and transparency, and as a clear step up from Clear in spatial imaging, dynamics and low-frequency impact. Each pair is made to order.
Measure component-to-component along the real path, including the drop behind the rack, and round up to the next half metre. Use XLR when both components have true balanced connections; otherwise RCA. Cardas builds XLR and RCA versions at the same price. A pair covers one stereo connection; source to preamp, or preamp to power amp.
