Gravis II pairs a 10.2-inch very-long-throw woofer with a 10.2-inch passive radiator, driven by a 350 W RMS (700 W peak) Class AB amplifier. The passive radiator extends the bass. Controls include separate master and LFE levels, a 30 to 120 Hz crossover (24 dB/octave), a phase switch and auto on/off, and it accepts line, LFE and speaker-level (Speakon) connections.
Sonus faber designed Gravis II as the visual and sonic match for the Sonetto collection. Sound & Vision used one with a Lumina surround system to add the bass weight the small speakers lacked on bass-heavy music. It suits medium rooms for both music and movies.
