The story
The Electa Amator III is a 2-way vented design. A 1.1-inch DAD soft-dome tweeter, loaded by its own solid-wood rear chamber, crosses over at 2,500 Hz to a cellulose-pulp midwoofer. Solid walnut, Carrara marble, brass and black leather tie it back to the original Electa Amator.
What Hi-Fi heard an expressive midrange and surprisingly authoritative, articulate bass for the size, with a slightly bright, characterful treble that is a deliberate voicing rather than strict neutrality. At 88 dB and 4 Ω, it works with a good 35 to 125 W amplifier. It suits small and medium rooms on its matching Carrara Stand.
