The story
Magico says nothing was carried over from the original A3 just because it had worked before. The 2027 A3 is a new three-way, four-driver design. Its aluminum cabinet has radiused vertical edges and a top plate that rolls into the sides, with constrained-layer damping and bracing placed according to measured data. Every drive unit is new: a 1.1-inch beryllium tweeter, a 5-inch Nano-Tec midrange and two 7-inch Nano-Tec bass drivers. They are joined by a three-way Elliptical Symmetry Crossover with acoustical-target 24 dB Linkwitz-Riley slopes. Magico developed it with the laser vibrometer and near-field scanner used for the M9.
The original A3 was a Pearl Audio favorite, and reviewers praised its midrange clarity, wide and stable soundstage, and tight, deep bass. The new A3 aims to build on that. At 87 dB and 4 Ω, with a recommended 50 to 300 W, it suits a wide range of good amplifiers. It works in smaller and medium-sized rooms.
All four colors are the same price. Black curved, perforated aluminum grilles and four POD footers are included. Magico expects the A3 (2027) to ship in early 2027.
