The story

The A1 enclosure is built from 3/8-inch 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, with internal bracing and damping that make the sealed cabinet rigid and free of resonances. Its pure beryllium tweeter is a 28 mm dome based on the geometry of Magico's M Series tweeter. The 6.5-inch mid-bass driver has a multi-wall carbon-fiber cone with a layer of XG Nanographene, and a 39 mm pure titanium voice coil in a large magnet system. The two are joined by Magico's elliptical crossover.

SoundStage!'s Doug Schneider found the A1 full, rich and smooth through the midrange and highs, with bass surprisingly deep and weighty for a sealed minimonitor. With 84 dB sensitivity and a 4 Ω load, it needs a real amplifier: the review suggests at least 100 W per channel. It is ideal for smaller rooms. Pair it with the ASUB if you want the bottom octave.
