The story
Adikt is the cartridge Linn fits to the Majik LP12 MM and the one most Sondeks start with. It is a moving magnet design, so it delivers 6.5 mV into the standard 47 kΩ MM input of an integrated amplifier or a Selekt DSM with no step-up or MC stage. The generator is a former-less copper coil in a rigid body; the stylus is a Gyger II profile on an aluminum tube cantilever, and when it wears the whole stylus assembly is replaced by the owner, which keeps running costs low. It mounts at two points with 1.2 mm gold pins and tracks at 1.5 to 2.0 g.
Jason Thorpe, reviewing it for SoundStage Network, heard "a superb sense of ease through the midrange" and music portrayed "with strong rhythmic assurance." Hi-Fi News measured the Majik LP12/Krane package fitted with the Adikt in 2021 and found it tracked quietly, with hum and noise of −55 dB, in a deck that sounded "vibrant and alive." Its 8.25 g mass suits the Krane and Arko and most medium-mass arms.
Adikt is the first of Linn's cartridges, below the Koil moving coil. If your phono stage has an MC input, the Koil is the next step; if it does not, the Adikt is the Linn cartridge to own.
