The story
Nordost's QKORE is a parallel grounding device. Inside its mechanically tuned housing are Low-Voltage Attractor Plates, purpose-built plates of a proprietary alloy with a passive electronic circuit that draw stray high-frequency noise and voltage-generated magnetic fields to a manufactured earth point. It does not replace the protective earth of the electrical system; it works alongside it, connected to components through QKORE Wires.
Three models cover three jobs. QKORE1 has a single QBASE Ground post and grounds the primary side of the supply, which means the distribution block; it ships with a 2 m banana-to-banana QKORE Wire. QKORE3 has three multi-use posts for components, the secondary side where the audio circuit is, and ships with a 2 m RCA-to-banana wire. QKORE6 does both, with three component posts, two monoblock posts and a QBASE Ground post, and ships with both wires. Posts are gold-plated WBT.
Jason Victor Serinus reviewed the QKORE system for Stereophile in January 2019, and Jacob Heilbrunn, in The Absolute Sound, found it a silent, passive product that noticeably improved detail, dynamics and bass. We use QKORE6 with a QBASE QB8 and reference separates, and QKORE3 with a compact system. Additional QKORE Wires in RCA, XLR, BNC, USB, RJ45, spade and banana terminations are available to order.
