The story
The Headphone Edition takes the Uniti Atom's streaming platform and replaces the loudspeaker amplifier with a dedicated headphone stage: single-ended 6.35 mm, balanced 4.4 mm Pentaconn and balanced 4-pin XLR outputs, up to three sets connected at once, with 1.5 watts per channel into 16 ohms for anything from IEMs to planars. It is also a preamplifier, with balanced XLR and RCA outputs for a power amplifier or active speakers. Streaming covers Roon Ready, Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Bluetooth; two optical and one coaxial digital input and an RCA analogue input take other sources.
Stereophile named it Headphone Product of the Year as "an immaculately engineered, polished product," and StereoNET and Audioholics both made it a Product of the Year in 2021. It is the desktop or bedside system for a headphone listener, and a complete preamplifier for a small system with Harbeth or Focal active monitors.
Uniti components are made in one finish, brushed aluminium with a black glass top.
