The story
The 555 PS has been Naim's top source power supply since the CD555, and the DR revision brought Naim's Discrete Regulator configuration, which Naim describes as its best-ever standard of stable, low-noise power. A massive transformer with five separate windings feeds seven regulated supplies, keeping digital and analogue sections apart, in a low-resonance case on isolating feet. A Power-Line mains cable is supplied as standard.
The NAPS 555 DR is required by the ND 555, which has no internal supply, and a second unit can be added to it for the final upgrade. It also powers the NDX 2, NDS, NDX, CD555, CDX2, HDX and Naim DAC.
Naim Classic 500 Series components are made in black anodised aluminium.
