The RS Amethyst is the complete stylus assembly for Sumiko's Amethyst moving-magnet cartridge: a nude 0.2 × 0.8 mil line-contact diamond on a 0.5 mm aluminum cantilever. It simply pulls off and slides on, so a worn Amethyst can be brought back to factory performance in a minute, with no realignment. The Amethyst's body and generator are built differently from the Rainier, Olympia and Moonstone, and Sumiko's UK distributor specifies the RS Amethyst for use on the Amethyst. If you have one of the other Oyster bodies, ask us before ordering.
