The story

Hyperspike is Solidsteel's high-end range and it works differently from the S racks. Instead of one bolted frame, each level is a self-contained module: a 23.6 by 19.7-inch ennobled MDF shelf on four solid polished-steel pillars, with adjustable stainless spikes underneath and spike plates set into the top caps. Levels stack spike-to-plate, so energy has a single, defined path to ground and no bolted joint to rattle. O-rings between pillar and shelf damp the steel.

The HY-3 stands 25.8 inches tall with three levels and a 20-inch-wide inner shelf, enough for a turntable on top and two full-width components below, each rated to 155 pounds. Add kits from 5.7 to 12 inches set the spacing per level, and extra shelves add a module when the system grows.

Key technologies

  • Stacking spike-and-plate modules. Each level stands on adjustable stainless spikes that seat in spike plates on the level below: one contact point per pillar, no bolts in the signal path.
  • O-ring damped solid steel pillars. Polished solid steel for mass and rigidity, decoupled from the shelf by O-rings that stop the pillar ringing.
  • Ennobled MDF shelves. Dense MDF with a flat black finish, 23.6 by 19.7 inches outer, rated to 155 pounds.
  • Modular add kits. Inner shelves and pole sets of 5.7, 7.2, 8 and 12 inches reconfigure or extend the stack.
