PH-001 Phono Cable

A phono cable designed around the power and signal needs of DS Audio optical cartridges, and also suitable for MM and MC cartridges.

An optical cartridge uses its phono cable differently from a magnetic one. The cold conductor that only carries ground in an MM or MC setup also carries power to the cartridge's LEDs. To keep that supply stable, DS Audio uses the same silver-plated copper for both the signal and cold conductors. The light-receiving elements are relatively high impedance and can pick up interference, so a braided silver-plated copper shield keeps outside noise out. FEP insulation surrounds the conductors, and the RCA plugs are machined from pure copper and gold-plated. It comes in three versions to suit your tonearm: straight DIN, right-angle DIN or RCA at the arm end, all with RCA at the equalizer end.
