Luxman's first network transport: a streamer with no DAC of its own, built to deliver Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify, Roon, local files and HDMI ARC television audio to a Luxman player or DAC over USB, coaxial or optical.

The story
Luxman waited a long time to make a streamer, and when it did it left the conversion out. The NT-07 is a network transport: it fetches music from Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify, TuneIn internet radio, a NAS or a USB drive, and hands it to a D/A converter over USB (to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD 22.5 MHz), coaxial or optical (to 24-bit/192 kHz). The logic is that Luxman already makes DACs its customers trust, in the D-03R, D-07X, D-10X and D-100, and that the streaming side changes faster than the conversion side and is better kept in a separate box.
The feature set is complete. It is Roon Ready, supports TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect, and plays from OpenHome UPnP servers; Apple and Windows devices can cast to it. MQA core decoding is built in with off, core and pass-through modes. Intelligent resampling can up- or down-sample PCM between 44.1 and 384 kHz to match whatever the connected DAC accepts, with the two directions set independently. An HDMI input with ARC takes two-channel PCM from a television and passes 4K video through, so a Luxman system can serve as the sound system for a TV without a separate processor. Two USB storage ports (front and rear, one at a time) read FAT32, exFAT and NTFS drives.
Inside, Luxman has given the digital side the same treatment as its analog components: a large O-I type power transformer, two custom 10,000 µF filter capacitors and a regulated, noise-suppressed supply, in a full-width 440 mm chassis that matches the rest of the line. Control is from the free Luxman Stream app on a phone or tablet, or the RC-30 aluminum remote, which also runs Luxman disc players and the volume of Luxman amplifiers. The high-definition EL display shows track, artist, elapsed time and format.
The NT-07 belongs with any of Luxman's disc players, where it turns the D-03R, D-07X or D-100 CENTENNIAL into a complete digital front end that plays discs, files and streams through one converter and one set of analog outputs.
