The US-only Clearaudio Signature turntable paired with the Signature Black Satisfy carbon-fiber tonearm.
The Signature is a US-only Clearaudio turntable, developed with Musical Surroundings, that draws on technology from across the line. Its AiR 12 V coreless DC motor has low inertia and no cogging, and is isolated from the plinth by O-rings in a suspension derived from the Reference Jubilee. Tacho-Speed-Control monitors speed in real time, calibrates itself at every start and can be trimmed by hand. A 30 mm POM platter rides on a precision-machined aluminum sub-platter, driven by a flat polished belt, over a hardened steel shaft in a sintered bronze sleeve with a Teflon thrust pad. The constrained-layer plinth sits on adjustable leveling feet, with a solid Baltic birch plinth as an option. The Professional Power 12 V linear supply, with a damped toroidal transformer, is included.
The Satisfy arm has an all-black carbon-fiber armtube and a two-piece aluminum headshell with adjustable azimuth, hardwired with Clearaudio's Direct Wire cable and RCA plugs. Stereophile reviewed the Signature with Clearaudio's Tracer arm and found it revealing and engaging, with strong rhythm, a quiet background and real refinement; the turntable and power supply here are the same. This package suits most moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, and the Baltic birch versions offer a warmer look.
