Clearaudio's Satisfy tonearm with a woven carbon-fiber armtube, on the same bearing, anti-skating and wiring as the aluminum version.
The Satisfy Carbon Fiber shares its geometry, bearings and wiring with the aluminum Satisfy. The difference is a woven carbon-fiber armtube, which is stiff for its weight and well damped. The arm uses a gimbal bearing with polished tungsten shafts. Anti-skating is magnetic and set with a knurled screw. The pre-mounted aluminum headshell allows azimuth adjustment. As on all Satisfy arms, Clearaudio's Direct Wire PLUS cable runs unbroken from the cartridge clips to the RCA plugs.
In Stereophile's review of the Concept Active Wood, the carbon-fiber Satisfy with Clearaudio's Concept MC moving coil seemed to get out of the way of the music. The reviewer described the sound as clear, dynamic, rhythmic and transparent. It takes cartridges from 2.5 to 17 g, so it suits nearly any MM or MC. It is a good step up for moving coils on Clearaudio's Concept turntables. It also works on other decks that mount an arm 222 mm from the spindle.
